Our Apprenticeships deliver high quality work-based training programmes for those who want to develop their future career prospects. Apprentices learn through a combination of on and off the job training. On the job they work alongside experienced staff and are assessed against national standards, whilst off the job they attend training to work towards nationally recognised qualifications.
All of our Apprenticeships are offered either as part of an Intermediate or Advanced Level Apprenticeship, enabling us to deliver a comprehensive programme of learning whilst providing a mode of delivery that is flexible enough to meet the needs of both the individual and employer.
Whether studying towards an Intermediate or Advanced Level Apprenticeship all our training programmes follow a mandatory framework structure as outlined below:
Competence Based Element - NVQ Diploma
NVQ Diplomas are based on the national occupational standards that describe the level of performance expected of anyone working in the industry or sector that the NVQ Diploma covers. All NVQ Diplomas are competence based and are linked to the individual's ability to perform a range of tasks in the workplace.
Apprentices plan a programme of development with their assessor and complete a portfolio of evidence to prove they are knowledgeable and competent in their work role. The evidence produced for the portfolio can include; observation of performance, written assignments and case studies, professional discussion, questioning, witness testimony and accreditation of prior learning.
Functional Skills
Our Functional Skills training will develop the practical Maths and English skills needed for success at work and in life. All our learners take an on-line initial assessment at the start of their training which will identify the level of support needed to achieve these qualifications.
Technical Certificate
The Technical Certificate provides the underpinning knowledge for the NVQ Diploma that learners will be assessed against in the workplace. There are a range of different Technical Certificates for each Apprenticeship programme that can be delivered flexibly to meet both learner and employer needs.
Industry Qualifications
Industry related qualifications provide learners with an enhanced package of qualifications that cover many of the occupational standards required for the NVQ Diploma. Often referred to as Vocationally Related Qualifications (VRQs), industry qualifications are stand alone modules that are nationally, and in some cases, internationally recognised within their relevant sector.
