At Central Skills we look to develop partnerships with local schools and colleges to provide vocational training and work experience opportunities that may not be otherwise be available to students following a standard curriculum.
We can provide training within schools or at one of our dedicated training centres, delivering a range of accredited qualifications specific to the Hospitality & Catering, Construction, and Sport & Leisure industry sectors. Central Skills' vocational training solutions are very flexible and can sit within the standard school timetable.
Our new suite of Apprenticeship Ready programmes which are available for all three vocational industry sectors are testimony to the commitment of Central Skills to provide the skills and knowledge that will help prepare young learners for their transition from pupil to employee or trainee.
Brief Case Studies - Sports
- Central Skills successfully delivered the Young Apprentice Sports programme to six Wigan Schools for six years. We helped over 200 pupils achieve a framework of Level 2 qualifications over two academic years. With pupil success rates at over 90%, the programme remains an outstanding example of the high quality training and learning provision delivered by Central Skills.
- In 2010, Central Skills took on the role of Lead Provider within Wigan Borough for the delivery of the 'New Higher Diploma in Sport & Active Leisure' to pupils in Years 10 and 11. This involves a consortium of secondary schools and Central Skills has been tasked to be the driving force for the development and achievement of all participating pupils.
