Central Training recognises that its activities impact upon the environment
through its routine operations and acknowledges a responsibility for, and a commitment to, protection of the environment at all levels. Central Training also recognise the need to save energy and will endeavour to comply fully with environmental legislation and will continue its efforts to:

• Increase awareness of environmental responsibilities among all its staff
• Minimise waste and pollution and develop and operate environmentally sound waste management procedures
• Reduce water consumption
• Reduce energy consumption
• Promote a purchasing policy which will give preference, as far as practicable, to those products and services which cause the least harm to the environment
• Avoid wherever practical the use of environmentally damaging substances and materials

Aims and Objectives:
Energy

• To increase the efficiency of the use of energy and reduce the cost
• To adopt a purchasing policy that recognises the benefits of efficiency
• To promote energy awareness among all employees

Recycling and Waste

• To reduce consumption of all materials
• To reuse or extend the life of materials where practicable
• To dispose of all waste materials in the least environmentally damaging way
• To encourage participation in recycling schemes
• To ensure that regulations regarding hazardous waste are understood and fully implemented
• To dispose of computers and associated equipment in line with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations

Sustainable development
At all times Central Training will undertake sustainable activities and follow the belief of meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet those needs. For example, Central Training will actively promote and undertake recycling activities where economically possible as outlined above.
